brief bright light flashing through sky (downward)
While driving roughly north-bound on Galen Street in Newton/Watertown, heading towards Watertown Square, saw a very distinct, bright light shooting through the sky, appeared to be heading downward in a straight line. Lasted about 2 or 3 seconds, hard to tell exactly what happened but it seemed to fade out or disappear at the end. Definitely too big (and seemingly a bit slow) for a shooting star, but way too fast for a plane.
Called the police, but apparently no other reports called in.
No audible noise (probably too far away for that).
