2013-01-13 - Courtenay, BC - Light

Bright blue flash that lights up the night sky.

As I was driving to work I noticed a sudden bright blue flash that lit up the entire sky around me, almost like daylight. It was blink of an eye fast. I wasn't even sure if I had seen something, when my passenger said, "What was that?"

Later I mentioned it to a coworker and she had told me that she also witnessed this, and like myself, wasn't sure if she had actually even seen it because it was so quick. She told me that immediately after the flash, all of the street lamps and parking lot lights went out.

No reports of transformers blowing or explosions in the area.

A few days earlier (I cannot remember the date exactly, possibly the 01/09/13), in close vicinity to where I witnessed the flash of light, I saw a strange shape hovering in the sky. It was probably about 12pm. It was shaped almost like a helicopter on top, like an outline, but nothing at all on the bottom, and I could see completely through it. I saw no helicopter blades or any actual body at all. I could see the mountains through it.
