Tonight, in SW Washington, a very bright orange light was moving in a northerly direction, apparently crossing the Columbia River and passing over the Willapa Hills.
This is the first really clear evening in some time here.
I grabbed the binoculars and went out to view it. On closer observation, I could see a starboard running light and a strobe. The bright orange light at the front was like that of a low pressure sodium light.
When it got closest to overhead, jet engines could be heard.
I am reporting this because of the reports Peter made on CtoCAM.
I hope this helps.
