12/27/12- newyork, ny - 5:15pm reddish orange fireball just sitting there as i looked north toward empire state bldg - duration= 20secs
12/27/12 Mr Davenport Thursday, Dec 27th 2012 around 5:15pm on my way to the 23rd street subway station, looked up in the sky to see a bright reddish orange fireball just sitting there. It was positioned exactly above 23rd street and 5th avenue, next to Madison Square Park!
There was cloud cover as it had been cloudy all day and was already dark. Had about 20seconds to look and look again at this bright orange-red beaming from behind the clouds before going into the subway.
The bright reddish-orange object/fireball/light did not move. It was round in shape.
Thought it was out of place since the sun sets all the way over by the river, 11th/12th avenues.
Also, I’ve never seen an orange-red moon.
Looked around to see if anyone else was seeing this. No one.
