Slow moving object w/ 2 red EXTREMELY bright lights at low altitude - no motor/rotor noise heard

While traveling to work, traversed through Water Wheel Farm in Fredon NJ and noticed a double red flashing light on some type of flying object in the sky. It was not too high (approximately 1000 ft up) from the ground. It appeared to move very slow and going away from me but noticed it had turned and seemed to be aiming to fly right over my truck. I was on the hill leaving the farm heading towards Rt. 94. I stopped in the middle of the rd. (no other vehicles around) and put my window down to listen for any motor or rotor noise; none heard. The odd thing was the lights; the two red lights were at what appeared to be opposite ends of the craft and there was also a white light mixed in the middle of the two. The red lights were EXTREMELY bright. Lights also flashed with no specific pattern noticed. Definitely not the average wing/tail markers used on today’s aircraft.

I am also a local Fireman and have seen numerous emergency aircraft in my years, for which this was not something I would say was one. I continued on and lost sight of the craft. Once I was on Rt. 94 going south, I spotted the object again at a slightly higher altitude and flying on an Easterly course at a higher speed. From my next turn off of Rt. 94 I lost sight of the object. I do know there was quite a bit of traffic in the area at the time so I know there were more people who saw this anomaly.
