Observed a yellow-orangish in color like object (eggplant like shape) coming from the South, over Lake Murray. The object appeared yellow orangish as it approached and then yellow white as it moved away. It appeared to not have lights on the outside, but radiate light from inside. The light wasn't brilliant, it was just "lit up." The object was much higher than the tree line, but lower than a plane. I thought it was a helicopter at first, but it moved too smoothly (like an airplane). I was grabbing my coffee mug out of my car before I went to bed, as I saw the object approach, I ran inside and got my wife. The object just passed over us as we came outside. The object disappeared behind tall trees, as it moved North East way from us.
