lights over atlantic ocean during evening, easily seen, quickly disappearred, several locations
We were sitting on our balcony just watching the night sky over the ocean, when a set of 5 five lights in an arc formation appeared, with another set of 3 lights following it to the rear left. I was concerned as I thought it was an airplane approaching our location directly instead of down the coast line to the airport. The lights all went out as quickly as they arrived. We thought perhaps it was a cloudy night however we can see the stars. The lights appeared again higher and much more to the right of our location and again went out. Lights reappeared in the first location coming on one at a time. They were bright enought to be reflected upon the ocean water. We continued to watch for some time but did not see the same sort of light display. It was definitely not a plane and we are at a loss to label exactly what we did see.
