rectangular, reflective object over Southern Middle TN
October 15, 2012 UFO On October 15, 2012 I saw a long rectangular object in the sky at around 10:30 am. Where I saw the UFO was in Normandy, TN, which is approximately 90 miles South of Nashville.
The object was to the right of the sun about one quarter of a turn. The object was highly reflective especially on the top left and lower right corners. I could not determine a color of this object because it was so reflective, it was the color of the sun. I was not around a telescope so I had to use binoculars to observe this object. I was only able to observe for a few minutes because I had to be somewhere else. When I arrived at the place I had to go, approximately 30 minutes later (11:00 am), I could not find the object. I don’t believe it was of alien origin, but by definition it is a UFO.
Earlier in the morning, around 8:00 am, my grandfather also observed this object and he said it was lower in the sky than where I observed it at 10:30 am. However, it was in the sky the entire duration from when ! he first saw it until when I saw it, but as far as I could tell, it disappeared around 11:00 am.
I am a beginning astronomer and a sophomore in college. I am fascinated by space programs and alien shows, however, I do not believe this object was alien. If anything, it was probably another government test of a new undercover aircraft. I am submitting this not because I think it is alien, but because I want to know what it was. I asked my astronomy professor if he saw this object and he said he did not, but a week or two after the sighting he did turn me onto a video on the internet about a man in KY that got footage of the UFO and was interviewed by CNN.
The UFO in that video is precisely what I saw, only I saw it on Oct. 15, 2012 and the man in the video saw it on Oct. 16, 2012.
