4-6 white lights circling in the southeast and east sky over St. Louis, above the clouds.
In southeast sky, four white lights circling separately, but intersecting in the middle. Sometimes I saw 1 or 2 lights flying away into the east sky. The lights seemed chevron-shaped, and moved very quickly. They described smooth circles/paths, and did not change direction quickly or dart.
Very cloudy. There was no beam(s) of light coming from the ground and shining ONTO the clouds, so I don't think they were advertising spotlights. These lights were shining THROUGH the clouds.
