2012-10-05 - Koh Samui (Thailand - Sphere

2 sightings of orange orbs off the coast of Koh Samui, an island in Southern Thailand.

As my girlfriend and I were relaxing in our en-suite jacuzzi while on holiday on Koh Samui, Thailand, we saw four orange orbs.

It was at night. The sky was mostly cloudless and black. The orange orbs were between 10-30 kilometers away. Four orange orbs rose into the night sky from a northerly direction. They were each about the size of a pinhead. They flew in an italicized N-formation. They rose for several kilometers into the night sky, then moved south a few kilometers, then paused and began to fade until they disappeared.

It is possible that they disappeared because they were moving away from us, or that could be how my mind is trying to explain the phenomenon. They could have just winked-out. Who knows.

There were no wing-lights (as on commercial aircraft), and they were silent. Koh Samui is a popular island destination, and as a result there are quite a few aircraft flying in and out of the island. Shortly after the orange orbs disappeared, we could hear a commercial plane flying overhead, coming in for a landing. This plane, which came from a southern direction, was noisy with wing-lights. So it was easy to contrast the two airborne crafts.

I had seen a similar event on October 2nd, Tuesday, 2012, on Koh Samui as well. This time I was walking with my girlfriend down Chaweng Beach. She didn't see it, and I took notice of it (I keep my eye on the skies), but thought that they could be a natural phenomenon. I filed this event into the "remember this" part of my brain. There were 3 craft. All were orange orbs. They formed in a triangular pattern and then faded away as before. These craft came from the same northerly direction, moved south, then paused and faded-out in the same area in the sky as above.

I am an English teacher in Japan. I am 32 years old. My girlfriend, who is Japanese, works at a university in Tokyo. She is roughly the same age as me. We were both sober at the time.

I have just submitted a report and would like to add some very important details.

After doing some research, I have discovered that tourists on Koh Samui release a lot of lanterns into the sky at night.

I would like to think that the ufos I just reported on are in fact lanterns.
