2012-09-21 - Salvo, NC - Formation

Salvo, N.C. looking North towards Waves, N.C. & Rodanthe, N.C. (beach side) approx. 9:30pm & lasting over an hour 4 events on & off (they would come & then fade away & later more would appear). As my friend & I returned from our dinner & went out on the deck facing the ocean, our neighbors on the deck next to us asked if we had seen the lights. They went on to explain that there were 7 orange glowing lights in a strange formation in the north sky and that they were there for a few minutes then faded away. We talked about it for a few minutes & kept looking. My friend & I sat on our deck & in a few minutes our neighbors said that the lights were back again. We jumped up to look. There were 8 orange glowing round & oval lights. My friend looked at them with binoculars & said they were glowing from the inside out. They were moving slowly from ocean side to bay side & very slow. They were not moving in the direction of the wind. They seemed to pulsate. They were! in the formation of 2 attached triangles larger triangle at top & on right & smaller attached triangle on left & at bottom with 2 hanging from the bottom. I filmed them but they were far away & my camera did not record them. They faded out in a matter of 2-3 minutes *At the same time on the ground a few miles down the beach was one area of white & blue glowing, looked electrical & pulsated. At times it faded away & returned & at times there were bright flashes off to the sides - This happened over approx. 1 hr. After the orange formation faded out, we waited & in approx. 20 minutes another object appeared only this one seemed to have 2 others glowing objects attached to it. They did the same thing that the others did & faded out in approx 2-3 minutes. In another 15 - 20 minutes another appeared in the same area and this one seemed to have 3 other glowing objects attached to it. It also did the same as the others and faded in approx 3 minutes. It seemed the before these obj! ects appeared in the sky - the electrical glowing on the groun! d would get brighter & more active with more flashes. It was very strange.
