Bright orange orb the size of a medicine ball at 2000 feet passed directly overhead with no sound.
Sitting on our vacation cabin porch, overlooking Pelican Lake, four buddies and myself saw a Bright Orange Orb moving across the clear sky from West to East heading directly toward us. At first I thought it might be a meteor but as it got closer you could definitely tell it was not burning but glowing a bright orange color.
This single bright orange orb was moving at a steady rate and appeared to be at a height of 2000 to 2500 feet. It passed directly overhead and made no sound. The object was bright orange and had a distinct circular shape. It appeared to be the size of a medicine ball.
I was able to walk to the other side of the cabin and continued to watch is pass overhead until it moved over the tree line and out of sight. I tried snapping some pictures with my cell phone but nothing came out.
I live near O’Hare Airport in Chicago and see planes taking off and landing daily. The height of this object was much lower than an airplane on approach to O’Hare.
