Green fireball in southern night sky
I was standing on a 7th floor balcony of the hospital I work at looking in a southwesterly direction. I saw a green fireball approximately the color and size of a traffic signal light suddenly flash and disappear. I didn't see a tail or hear any noise as the object appeared to be at least a few miles away over southbound Hwy 101 toward Morgan Hill. I knew that night was the peak night for the Perseid meteor shower, but those were supposed to be in the northwest sky, and I saw several of those early the next morning and they didn't look like that. A bottle rocket? Maybe, but I doubt it.
