Oval circle glowing lights in the sky over Lake Ontario
I was attending a sailing regatta on Lake Ontario. We witnessed glowing ovals up in the sky over Lake Ontario about 20 miles west of Rochester, NY. We actually saw them two times. Once on the evening of Sat. Aug 4 around 10:30pm. There were about 4 of them, about 30 to 50 degrees in the sky. They were orangish and it wasn't the moon, aircraft or other lights, balloons, stars or anything. They were the size of your pinky fingernail if you held your hand out as far as you could from your face. They didn't move a lot, they didn't move with the wind direction, the wind was strong that weekend. After about 20 minutes the lights just disappeared.
The second time we saw them was at 4am on Sunday Aug. 5. My wife woke me up at 4am and we saw 3 or 4 more of them. She was spooked about them, we both thought they were very strange. I had my camera with me and I took a picture, it was completly dark out and the image quality is average for that time of night. ! I'll email you a copy of the picture. A few other of our friends saw the lights as well. We can't explain what we saw, I have never seen anything like it before.
