Early morning orange orb sighting in the Portland Metro area
I just observed a very strange orange orb in the sky from my home near SE 72nd and Harold St. in Portland, Oregon. It first appeared in the W/SW sky from my position and seemed to be moving in a S/SW heading. The color and brightness of this object was very soul stirring. It seemed to hover or move slowly near its position at first, then it appeared to gain elevation and move in an arc trajectory towards the S/SW.
The whole sighting lasted for about 40 seconds. After recognizing that what I was seeing was not natural, I took out my phone and started recording video (about 5 seconds after first seeing the orb.) However, it only took a couple glances at the screen to see that what I was recording would not be very clear/detailed. I then focused mostly on the object itself and watched it move until I finally lost sight of it behind a large Douglas Fir tree.
I still can't quite wrap my head around the type of fire-like orange light this object generated. The movement was also outside the norm of any craft I've ever seen. I'd really love to know what caused this phenomenon...
