Purple ball of light in night sky. Sunday, July 15, 2012. Columbus, OH.
My brother went to the corner drug store and managed to capture a quick picture of of a purple ball of light in the night sky (pictured between the street lights on the right).
The picture was taken via a cheap cell phone at the the corner of Maple Canyon/161 in Columbus, OH, at roughly 9:35pm, on Sunday, July 15, 2012. Just after he took the pictures (two back to back) he immediately called me in a panic to see if I could see it from the apartment (living roughly a quarter mile away to the north,m).
Unfortunately there are several tree lines so I didn't see it firsthand, but was fascinated by what he got a picture of.
He said the light was stationary and changed from purple to yellow, light blue to white, and then faded into blackness (visible for only a few moments).
