Red, green, orange flashing small lights - no craft abservable - over an hour in the sky above us.
We were watching fireworks at the Sears Center in Hoffman Estates, IL. There was something in the sky with red, green, orange blinking lights. It moved back and forth across some distance. It moved in small increments, back and forth, then moved quite far from where it started, then came back and moved away again. There was no sound. I thought it might be a blimp but moved too easily and quickly to be a blimp. It went too far away to be a kite, besides, it was too close to the fireworks to be a kite. Plus, when the show was over, it stayed in the general area for another 45 minutes.
Everyone sitting in the area observed it and speculated as to what it was. When we finally got out of the traffic, it was still hovering in the sky. I think if it was something connected with the fireworks, it would have turned off its lights and left the area, due to the price of fuel.
