2012-05-23 - Chicago, IL - Circle

I was driving in my car heading west on Belmont street around 5200 west 3100 south and was approaching the intersection of Long and Belmont Ave. When I witnessed an extremely bright light in the shape of an orb cross the sky. The brightness of this could be compared to a pure white that was luminous. There was no trail behind it as it crossed the sky. It was silent. It was moving at an accelerated rate of speed. Very fast! It did not cross the sky as though it was falling it crossed on a very horizontal level. It appeared to be low in the sky like a high flying kite. Lower than a plane. It was not flashing in anyway. It was coming from the southeast heading northwest. As I noticed it cross the street overhead it abruptly vanished. It did not fade out into the distance it was as if someone shut it off like a light switch. It was not any kind of search light or promotion light that had a beam attached to it. It was a sight I will not soon forget. At the moment! I saw it disappear

My son who was in the front seat seated next to me said. WHAT WAS THAT! I was glad it was confirmed by him. We both are stunned at what we saw. He is eleven by the way.
