Orange lights over mountain Southwest of Buckeye
My fiance and I regularly see orange lights in the southwest sky over the mountains. They appear between 2100 and 2230. We don't normally see them every day, but they do show up regularly.
These lights appear one at a time. Often we see them move slightly up and down and side to side. They shimmer in and out slowly, sometimes fading by half and coming back all the way to their brightest. They always fade out when they leave. We never see any craft come or go from the area.
My fiance and I are both former military so we are familiar with flares and the Luke Boys flying overhead, as well as commercial planes and helicopters. We also enjoy star gazing and are familiar with the night sky.
