New Years morning 2012. 5 lights by southern mountains outside Anchorage, AK
I took my son outside to see the New Year's fireworks and in the southern sky I saw 5 red and orange lights by the mountain. They started low and close together, looking like they were emerging from the mountain, and as they got higher they spread out. I tried to get my camera but it wasn't good enough to see them. By the time I asked my neighbor (she just got outside)they weren't there anymore.
