Strange Lights Above Hobart
I was driving southbound on Highway 18 just past Hobart when I stopped to pick up gas around 10:30 PM. It was cloudy and had just stopped raining. I noticed two very yellow lights perhaps 3/4 of the way up the sky to the northwest. These lights were almost a lemon yellow. Very peculiar and odd looking.
I stood there looking at them while my tank was filling up when they started moving apart. First one started moving to the Northeast. A second or two later the other started moving West.
The one moving Northeast continued down to about halfway up the sky when it rapidly vanished. I'm not sure if it went into the clouds or just turned off. It didn't jut blink off but faded out over about 1/2 second. The one moving West disappeared behind the gas station and I lost sight of it.
I would guess the whole episode lasted about 15-20 seconds but I wasn't checking my watch so I can't be sure. I wasn't frightened. Just transfixed and curious.
