solid orange V shape flying past and over no lights just a solid radiating orange V

a friend and i were at a party, we went into the back garden to smoke a cigerette, and looked across the sky to see a v shaped craft. it was solid orange colour, and it was moving slowly across the sky.the colour had no glare but was bright enough to distinguish it well enough from the sky. we listened for any engine noise at all, but it did not make any sound whatsoever.it was not a triangle it was a definate v shape. it was unlike anything i have seen or thought i would see flying in the sky. it slowly flew past us and just carried on going off in the distance.
