Brightest object in the sky, briefly stopped before continuing
At approximately 7:30 PM this evening, October 17, 2011, I observed a bright light. It was the brightest object in the sky moving slowly from the southwest toward the northeast just south and east of Eugene, OR. It stopped for three or four seconds while I was observing it and then continued along its path. I watched it until it was obscured by trees. The color was similar to stars though much brighter. It appeared to be low in the sky. There was no sound.
