Three sky blue triangles make two turns in formation
We were going out to Gar Hole upstream from War Eagle Mill east of Springdale Arkansas and as we approached the bridge from the south I saw three triangle aircraft bank to the south and drop altitude as a jetliner outbound eastward from XNA was approaching their location.
The aircraft appeared to be ~15% lower in altitude than the jetliner and a few miles at most south-east of the jetliner when the course change happened. The jetliner was rapidly approaching the position of the triangle aircraft and they all were heading generally eastward though the triangle aircraft group course did appear to be converging on the airliner's course and after the bank to the south they appeared to be diverging and dropping altitude. None of these aircraft were above 20000ft AMSL. From my location the aircraft were in the northern sky and 50-60 degrees above the horizon (less than 8 miles away).
I had not noticed the triangle aircraft until they had changed course, when they banked into the down and to the right curve, the apparent color of the underside of the triangles brightened enough to become visible against the clear blue sky.
The triangle aircraft were large though the jetliner was larger and moving faster. They did not make a visible exhaust trail and I didn't hear anything. The flight path and mode appeared to be ordinary gliding.
When the triangle aircraft leveled off again, they disappeared to my eye by once again becoming the same color and brightness as the sky. It was as if it were possible to control the brightness and coloration of the underside or entirety of the aircraft. I would have dismissed my observation as being motorized hang gliders if not for this fade-away.
I continued to watch that area of sky for a few minutes longer and didn't see anything more.
