small orange-red 'fireball' orb moving slowly along beach
While my girlfriend and I were sitting on the third floor balcony of our hotel on Long Sands beach in York ME, we witnessed a ‘fire ball’ type ufo.
It was somewhere between 9pm and 11pm, unsure of exact time. I was inside reading on bed when my girlfriend called to me to "come see this!”"
What appeared to be a glowing red/orange fireball was moving from north to south about 100-200 ft above the water just off the shore line. Our vantage point was from the southerly end of the beach.
The orb moved very slowly taking at least three minutes to travel from the approximate mid point towards our location. The object when closest to us seemed to have the likeness of a small campfire enclosed within a glass egg. It was almost as though you could see the flames inside.
It then turned on a more easterly path and slowly moved off toward the horizon till if faded from sight. There was never any noise that could be heard above the sound of the waves.
