two to three bright blue lights, changing to a triangle of bright white lights
Saturday evening, my wife and I were visiting friends and sitting on their back patio. To the northwest we saw what appeared to be a star with a bluish light. I joked and said, “Look, a space ship.” My friend said it was just an airplane.
We watched it carefully but it didn’t look like it was moving at all. Then suddenly it moved horizontally very fast to the west. It only went a short distance, then it stopped.
A moment later, it moved again horizontally to the east, this time not as fast, but a further distance. I asked my friend if he had any binoculars. He brought them out and we were able to see the lights were two identical blue circles.
The circles would vanish and be replaced by three bright white lights in a triangular pattern.
As I watched through the binoculars the lights rose very quickly diagonally to the northwest. The white lights went back to blue, but this time I saw three blue lights horizontally.
They stayed in that position! for about a minute, then the lights turned to a vertical position and the three blue lights dropped straight down over the horizon.
