Bright stationary object in sky north of Mohawk, AZ
While driving east on interstate 8 we saw a very bright white or sliver cylindrical object hovering in the sky about 10 o'clock high. It remained motionless above the mountains which we estimated were 3-5 miles north of Mohawk. We drove along I-8 for another 15-20 minutes passing through the security checkpoint on I-8. The object remained visible as we continued along I-8.
Finally, we decided to try and get a closer view so we left I-8 at exit 102 and went north as far as the road goes.
At that point it was about 17:10 and the object was still clearly visible. As the sun went down the brilliance of the object progressively declined until it was no longer visible at ~17:30. We tried to take pictures with our low resolution phones but we were still too far away and by then the brilliance of the object had declined.
Based upon the first sightings form the car we estimate the length of the object to be large...at least the length of a cruise ship and its high r! eflectance (brilliance in sunlight) could only be consistent only with a very highly mirror-like surface.
