White light traveling silently across the night sky in 8-10 secs, leaving no trail
At 5:10 this morning, Nov. 3, 2010, as I was walking to my car just before driving to work, looking south I saw a rather bright, white "meteor"-like object passing horizontally across the sky from east to west. At an elevation angle of perhaps 15 or 20 degrees.
It moved rather slowly, taking 8 or 10 seconds to travel from left to right across my range of vision. It left no streak or trail behind. So it didn't seem like a meteor, traveling too slowly and too horizontally; also, I could discern a diameter to its circular shape -- about the width of a matchstick held at arm's length.
It made no sound, so I'm sure it was no airplane.
My location was in southeast Portland, Clackamas County, immediately west of I-205 on S.E. Primrose Ave.
The weather was exceptionally clear, and the sky still dark. I believe the wind was from the east.
