Slow and silent
witnessed a cylindrical craft, white in color, moving beneath the cloud cover (approx. 10>12 thousand ft.), travelling in an Easterly direction going slowly ( maybe 5 mph over cloud speed) in the direction of the moving ( guessing at 30 mph) clouds. My location is close to O'Hare airport, but no sounds of jet engines were heard, craft appeared to be maybe 1.5>2 larger in diameter and in length of a 757 aircraft. No tail assembly or wings were visable, even though the craft appeared against a patch of blue sky for several seconds, and was highlighted by a bright sun.
I've since noticed conventional aircraft flying at approximately the same altitude and distance as a comparison, and I'm convinced that what I saw was not an aircraft. It was much too slow and totally silent.
