2010-09-02 - Fort Gratiot, MI - Circle

orange light, possible fireball, against night sky, minimal clouds, no stars

A single orange light was observed at approximately 9:30pm around Lakeshore drive just north of Carrigan road. The light moved a bit faster than a standard airplane. It could not have been mistaken for an airplane as there were no flashing lights typically seen on the wing of an airplane. It’s possible that it could have been a fireball/comet/meteor although there was no “tail” typically seen on such an occurrence. There were minimal clouds and no stars were present. The event lasted about a minute until it was lost behind dense tree coverage. The object flew in a more-or-less straight path with a bearing directly north east. It was also continuous and did not fade, nor get brighter during the sighting.
