2010-07-04 - Joppatowne, MD - Fireball

On the fourth of July, a red fireball was seen in the sky by 3 witnesses

Me and my sister on the 4th of July just walked out front of her house with the fireworks we had bought previously that day. My two nephews and her fiance were on their way out the door, but they weren't quick enough to see it. I saw it at first, to the left of me just barely visible above a house, a red ball of light that just seemed to fly through the sky. I guess the best way to describe it's movement would be to imagine as if you just blew up a balloon and then let the balloon go to just fly through the air. That's exactly what the ball did. My sister and I watched as the ball circled through the sky, hurtling in it's movement but still in some eerie way it's moves appeared deliberate. It continued to move like this through the sky for about another minute, and then it disappeared behind some houses in the southeast. Moments later, a woman walking by asked me and my sister about the incident, asking if we had seen it, and asking where it had went. I poin! ted in the direction, and she followed it off until she was gone too. There was definitely something strange in the sky that night.
