In approximately June 2010, I observed in clear cloudless conditions a white luminous ball move about airliner.

The gentleman that reported an unusual object about three hours before your interview saw very much the same thing I saw last summer.
I have a background in physics and engineering and have over 50 years experience related to civil and military aircraft, (my father was a pilot in the air force and he and I built a 2 place homebuilt aircraft from scratch). Needless to say, I have a love affair with aircraft and any time one flies over, I can’t help to look up and admire it.
I live in a farmhouse that is on the North approach route to Pearson International Airport in Toronto.
About this time last year around noon while working outside, I heard an airliner on approach to the east of our house. Approximate altitude was 10,000 feet, and about 5 miles downrange to the east.
Atmospheric conditions were very clear and cloudless.
When the aircraft’s heading was tangential to my point of observation, I noticed a very bright luminous ball of white light suddenly appear over the wingtip of the airliner.
At first I thought it was caused by tip vortex condensation, but this was hardly something that would happen to a throttled back airliner on approach pulling only 1 g.
Besides, the form of the ball was not a trail, as in tip vortex condensation, and was very luminous. I had never seen anything like it. What really dispelled any vortex cause was when the ball rose rather quickly vertical to the wing section and over the fuselage. It then quickly progressed forward to the cockpit but before reaching it, vanished.
And that was it.
The whole observation occurred within a maximum of 5 seconds.
