Mid August 2009 My grandchildren were visiting from LA and along with my husband; we camped out on a deck outside a bedroom. We were on cots, with curtains around us and a canopy over us.
My daughter was asleep on the couch inside, at the front of the house.
I was awakened by an extremely loud noise that sounded like metal hitting something hard. It came from the west between our house and the house next door.
I lay there terrified by the fact of the volume of the noise, but also the fact the noise was moving towards us. I lay afraid to look out and afraid for my grandchildren.
But I was very alert and focused.
The noise continued and I realized we were all awake- listening and terrified.
The noise lasted for several seconds, and then moved towards the alley, then quickly down the alley until it was gone. It was obvious the sound came from an object.
I moved to the house and began calling in the sound to the police and talking about it with the 2 adults who were now also awake. We had the same description- exactly.
I did not go back to sleep, and spent the next day talking to neighbors to find out no one else heard it.
It is over one year later and I know what I heard was not from this world.
I cannot sleep on the deck anymore, and I am not normally a frightened person.
