I was stepping out of my car and happened to look up and saw what appeared to be a plane. I then saw two balls of light break away from the first object and glide to the east towards the mountains. I then looked up to find the first odject had disappeared. Before the two balls of light disappeared they broke into a third one and finally disappeared.
