Thought it was a shooting star, until it began to move horizontally and blink intermittingly
On December 14, 2008 at 5:00 AM pacific time, I was driving eastbound when I saw what I thought was a shooting star. It was falling from very high in the far off east/ northeast sky.
As it fell down vertically through the atmosphere it slightly dimmed (as a star would), then immediately shot off - horizontally to the right.
This light moved extremely fast and was not a constant motion; it would move, pause, move, pause, and blinked at every pause. It blinked about 4 times before it was out of sight.
This was not airplane speed and not airplane lights.
The light was hot white, and there was only 1.
