Green Football Shaped Objects flying over the Atlantic Ocean, Crescent Beach FL 2007 or 2008
I saw a UFO in Crescent Beach, FL some 13-14 yrs ago, and never reported it. After hearing about NUFORC via Leslie Kean’s book “UFOs”, I finally decided I should go ahead and submit what I saw. I was in my early 40’s at the time and was (still am) an I.T. consultant. My recollection of the event is still very good.
I do not remember the exact date nor even the year. I do know it was late summer of ’07 or ’08, possibly ’09. I know it was late summer because that is hurricane season and I went to the beach for a surf trip. So likely August or September. Definitely it was a Sat early morning, 1-1:30 AM as I drove down from Atlanta and this would have been a ~7 hour drive, and I left my house Fri eve.
I stayed at a friend’s house on Kon Tiki Cir. I will not give you the exact address in order to protect his privacy in case he still lives there (have lost touch with him).
He had a small “tool shed” (used as an office) in his back yard where I was to sleep. I arrived about 1AM, we exchanged a few pleasantries, he probably gave me a beer and he went to bed (no I did not get drunk). I stood in the yard next to the shed, drinking my beer, decompressing from a long drive and stretching my legs.
His back yard faces the ocean and if you look on google maps you will see that Kon Tiki Cir is less than .5 miles from the ocean. There was a row of trees about 10-12 ft high at the property line of his back yard. I was standing probably 30-40 ft away and more or less facing them (therefore I was facing the ocean).
I do not remember if I happened to just look up or I saw something out of the corner of my eye but a few sips into my beer I saw five (could have been 7 but probably 5) green, glowing football shaped objects flying above the aforementioned trees. They were heading south.
Each football was exactly the same size, shape, and color, which was a dim green, basically the same color of green as you would see on LED’s on an appliance, such as a microwave oven.
Because each light was not bright at all, you could clearly make out the football shape. In other words the edges of each object were sharp and well defined.
There was one football in the middle, and the other 4 were arranged symmetrically and equidistant around it and from each other, let’s use a clock and say roughly @ 2, 4, 8, and 10.
I could not make out anything else, so I cannot say if these were lights attached to a larger object or they were individual “lights” flying in formation. There was no sound.
As far as the size, if you squashed the moon into a football, and maybe shrank it by 10-20%. Something like that. I also had the impression that this thing or things was pretty far out over the ocean. Maybe a mile or more.
The whole thing lasted maybe 7 seconds and then it appeared that the lights all turned simultaneously to the southeast and disappeared. Making me think that they were attached to a larger object.
The speed was kind of like a flock of birds flying by at close range. But again, I felt like this thing was pretty far away so it would have been traveling much faster. The lights never changed size, shape, brightness, color. The only change was the “directional” change that I just mentioned.
