Island Lake, Sk, Canada
The plan that particular evening was to camp near a salt lick and check on the area in the morning. I was hunting for either moose or elk. I had decided to camp with my stepson who was nine years old at the time and expect to be up very early to start walking towards the salt lick in the morning. We were getiing ready to sleep in the truck and started covering up with a blanket, light up a candle and have a somewhat uneventful sleep. Thats when my stepson noticed some lights in the sky. I quickly shut off the candle and started to move around to get a clearer view. I did not hear any noise and just started to watch very closely at what the lights might do. the lights were about 5 to 800 yards away and were slightly obscured by some brush. Seeing the lights were as clear as ever. I watched as the lights alternated colors and at the same time were alternating the amount of lights that were on. No more than five lights were on at one time and they were arranged! in a perfect pentagonal shape on the egde of a circle. The amounts of lights that were on were randomly changing and so were the colors. The craft made no noise and kept moving from the left to right and down then up and to the left then repeated the movement at a steady pace the whole time while observing it. The event lasted for at least fifteen minutes and no more than twenty. At the end the lights just simply shut off and there was no more sign of any thing in the sky any longer. I think back on the event and recall it just like it was yesterday. I can point to a location on a map and know that I was looking directly south. I can say that I was pretty scared and decided to strap my hunting knife back to my belt and load my gun. I was prepared to fight just in case something scary did happen.
