Strobing lights far from any city or ranches.
I was driving very late on US 12 in Montana and when I was approaching the sandstone cliffs along the Musselshell River when I saw strobing lights going back and forth, like on a runway. But I didn't remember any runways in that area.
As I got perpendicular to the lights it turned and kept up with me, but I saw no vehicle, just one strobing light. I slowed down and it slowed to match my speed. I finally stopped and it did to. It just strobed and I couldn't see anything of substance. I got out of my truck to see if I could see better but it was just a light. I finally got back in my truck and drove on but this time it didn't follow. I looked back and the light disappeared.
