Odd light witnessed over air force base unlike any known aircraft or aircraft light
I was driving on the air force base about two or three blocks south of the West gate. At the time I had a pathfinder with a sun roof that was open. The hangers and runways were to my left (East). This is the vicinity that I saw the light in.
I have grown up my entire life around the air force base and have been familiar with all kinds of craft, and the lights and how they look at night. I have lived south of the base, East, North, and West. I'm familiar with the flight paths. I was also married to someone in the military. It would be difficult for me confuse what I saw with any known military air craft.
It had not been dark too long when I saw it. It was sometime around 6 or 7. My son was in the car but was only around three yrs old.
I looked up toward my Left/East and saw a glowing light. It was an orange color but almost a white orange, not really a darker orange. It wasn't a small light that you would confuse with some smaller lights on aircraft. All I could make of it was that it was a larger, unmistakable light.
I've seen probably 3 or 4 shooting stars as well. This object would almost resemble a shooting star except that it had no tail at all, it was larger, it was more orange, and it moved MUCH more slowly. It was so unlike any aircraft or aircraft lights that I didn't even consider it to be this even though it was seen on base.
I immediately thought it was a shooting start, but an instant reaction was.. .I can't see how that could possible be a shooting star either...I've never in my life seen one that slow, without a tail or streak.
I thought maybe it was a flare but even flares move faster than that so there is no way. I'm really not sure what it could have been but it certainly struck me odd enough that I KNEW it was strange and nothing I could reason. I was surprised I literally stopped my car in the road and watched it move southwest at an angle through my sun roof.
This is the first I've mentioned it in any way.....I never said anything because there wasn't a second witness and figured people would call me crazy. There was no audible sound.
