Dark evening sky, triangular object moving fast, colorful lights reflecting off the evening mist, faded away
I was standing on my front driveway star gazing looking in a northern direction when what appeared to be a triangular object with bright colorful lights just appeared out of nowhere. It seemed to have come out of a cloud, but there were no clouds present. It seemed very close(about cloud height, it was moving very fast, and appeared to be the size of a football stadium.
I live in San Diego, and the evenings can be a little misty or foggy. The lights of this object seemed to reflect off of the fog making the whole phenomenon a little hazy.
Just as soon as I got a good look at this phenomenon it appeared to fade back into a cloud, but like I said there were no clouds present. Absolutely no sound was made by the phenomenon.
The whole event only took about 5 seconds.
Given the horizon to horizon evening sky is 180 degrees I estimate the whole phenomenon took about 20 degrees of the sky.
