This is a report of a UFO event in the town of Wells,Texas
UFO Report: Estimated date of event: 02/15/08 Time of event: 01:30- 01:50 This UFO event happened a few years ago when I was working as a regional truck driver at the time. I have thought of this event over the years and for some reason I cannot forget that night.
I was returning to Dallas from a trip from Louisiana with a backhaul. As I normally do I was heading northbound on highway 69 north from Lufkin, TX, heading north toward the city of Rusk.
As I usually do this time of night I would take a break on side of the road just north of a small town called Wells, TX. I would take a sleep break just north of town where highway 69 would open up from a two lane road to a four lane highway. It was about 1 am in the morning when I would first stop and I had planned to stop for only for 15 minutes. I would go into my sleeper, close the curtain, and go to sleep for a bit longer than I had planned. I remember something waking me up and I had a feeling of something strange or abnormal. I would come out the sleeper to look around to make sure no one or nothing was happening to my trailer as I would be responsible for it having stopped in such a remote area. I then remember looking out the passenger side window and seeing brightness out the corner of my eye. I then looked to directly out the window and I could see a bright yet dim light hovering over the tree line in the distance. I had stopped before in areas in Louisi! ana next to oil refinery plants plenty of times before so I was thinking it was just the tower that burns off the gas from their refinery process. As I continued to look at this light I realized the light didn’t burn like the flames I had seen at those plants yet it was illuminated like soft burning light bulb you have in your home.
I then started to look around to see if anyone else was around seeing the same thing I was but no one was coming from the north or southbound direction of the road. I remember trying to see if this object had a shape of any kind but all I could see was the light coming from it. It seems to give off a little light over the trees but not enough to be extremely bright. I then tried to figure out how far away the object was but all I could see was a field that seems to be about 200 yards from the trees and I can say the trees look to be about 25 to 30 feet tall at most. I was going to try to get out the truck and try to walk closer but the field had a fence around it and also had cows in it as well. The object didn’t move at all or anything it just sat over the trees.
I had heard of many companies in the area drilling for gas and I thought it could have been a light tower in their working area but the light wasn’t giving off any light that could lite up an area. I continued to watch the object and I then rolled down the window and then turned off the truck to see if I could hear any sound from the object or anything around it. It was complete silence except for a little cold air blowing from time to time. The object’s light didn’t pulse or anything it just was a constant light glowing in the night.
As I continued to watch the light it would glow for about 5 more minutes and then all of a sudden it just went out. No noise or movement it just went out without warning. I sat there for a few more minutes to see if the light would come back but nothing at all came back. I would then try to write details of the event to the best of my knowledge and at the time I didn’t have a phone with a camera on it. To this day I have no idea what I saw that night but for some reason it sticks with me to this day. Because of that night I would carry a cell phone with a good camera on it just in case I would see something strange again. I cannot be sure if the date was correct but I do know that the time was correct because this was the time I would always get back to this part of Texas from Louisiana. I truly wish I could find out what that was or even if anyone else had seen the object as well so I wouldn’t think I was just seeing things.
