red and yellow lights off the coast by the Ocean Beach Pier in San Diego
On New Year's Eve 2007, my daughter and I went to the Ocean Beach Pier to walk the pier. The event occurred at around 8:15-8:45 p.m.
I first noticed the lights as we were walking on the pier back to where my car was parked. I told my daughter to turn around and look at these lights that were in the sky off the coast. I knew that it wasn't a plane because planes aren't stationary in the sky, and it was too low in the sky to be a star, there was no sound, and the lights were red on top and yellow on the bottom, close together, one light on top of the other light. We kept walking on the pier and continued to look back at the lights. All of a sudden there were no more lights in the sky. We just went down the stairs, got into the car and drove home. Of course, we talked about the lights on the way home, and speculated about what it could have been, but it wasn't until I started hearing about reports of lights in the sky in Phoenix, and the documentary about UFO's on the Discovery Channel that I'm watching right now, that I felt compelled to report the incident.
