Observed red lights over the ocean that appeared and then faded out.
We observed several lights in the sky over the ocean just offshore of Myrtle Beach, SC. The red lights seemed to appear in the sky glowed brightly and then faded out. The did not move.
We could not tell how far away or how high they were because it was dark and the sky was a little overcast.
We saw one light and then another appeared to its right. Once these faded out there was another that appeared to the right and higher in the sky. This light remained bright and then another appeared in front of it and to the left and then another as though there was a progression of them. All the lights were red.
This was on October 15, 2007 at about 9:30 EST.
We called the coast guard and reported it since we didn’t know if this could have been a boat sending up distress flares. While we were talking to them someone else called to report the lights.
The person at the coast guard took the information and said that they thought it was something that the air force was doing.
