Do Satellites Stop then Change Directions?
Saturday March 17th 2007 around 9:30pm give or take, I and two other people witnessed what we thought was a satellite tracking slowing across the nights sky. We watched this object (that looked like a small star) as it made its way across the sky, after about a minute, it came to a complete (or looked like a complete from our distance) stop in the sky, sat there for approx. 2 minutes then went in a 90degree different direction as we watched the object move in this new direction the light became dimmer and dimmer as if it was heading away from earth until it disappeared from our site. Is this possibly a type of satellite? Any explanation would be very appreciated, I have seen satellites before but never have seen one stop then switch directions. I am very interested in knowing what it is. Thanks.
