2006-08-07 - Alto, NM

((ADDENDUM FROM WITNESS))

Good afternoon. I can only report the following. I've attached the Oct '06 Ruidoso News article (Alto, NM, is just north of Ruidoso) for your reference and as a refresher to me, as I'd forgotten the month.

It was the night of Sunday August 6th, in the wee hours, so the article is correct in siting August 7th.

It is my ("Alto resident") friend in the article that saw it "over the Ranches of Sonterra" and my cabin* which was near the theater. She mentioned it at lunch the following day. It's not mentioned and might not be useful to you, but I bumped into a fellow ROS neighbor of mine immediately after hearing about this ufo over my cabin over lunch.

I don't know what possessed me to mention it to my neighbor (I guess I was excited) but she said a friend of hers had just mentioned seeing a craft over residential Ruidoso. This friend had been on a late night dog walk and saw what appeared to be a lit structure on their narrow, dense, tree lined street.

At first glance, they thought it was new construction with lights on, then realized a structure was not possible there. My neighbor said they took a second look and saw an overhead door close. That's all I know about that siting, and don't know if it was even reported.

The local paper told us they waiting until October to post the article, until they 'had room' and after they'd heard from Holloman AFB. Oh, and the article is cut off in the 1st column on the 2nd page. The omitted line read something like "....from as far away as Phoenix."

*PS: For the sake of full disclosure, I experienced contact in June 2009, 3 months before I sold this very cabin; loud humming craft overhead, greys in my bedroom and all. Not relevant to August 2006 and I did not report that either, but I can personally report no strange dreams or contact or anything unusual on the night of August 6th 2006.
