Black Triangle sighting in Denver, 2004. VERY up close, very black. Traditional 3-pointed triangle.
This occurred back in 2004. I walked out onto my 4th story apartment's balcony to have a smoke, it was a clear night and stars everywhere. I was looking at the stars when suddenly they disappeared in the area I was looking. Confused, I saw a few stars reappear and that's when I realized that something was passing between me and the stars I was looking at.
About 100 yards away from me, at almost eye-level, was an object so black that the only reason I even noticed it was that it was blocking the stars. Once I figured this out, I finally was able to see the craft itself - a large, black triangle moving through the sky at maybe 40mph. It was the size of an airliner, 727 sized, not very thick though. It was just high enough for me to see three very faint amber colored areas at each point of the triangle, underneath.
As it passed me I heard a very, very faint "whooshing" sound, almost like a loud sigh. At the rear of the triangle were 3 more faint amber colored lights, barely visible. From the time I first saw it until it had moved beyond my vision was close to 1 minute.
I work for the military and am very familiar with current stealth aircraft, this was not one of them. It was not a F-117 or a B2 (even if it had been it would have stalled from the low speed). My opinion is that it is a covert aircraft that has not been revealed to the public yet. It was something to see, though.
