Dark object over Great Basin National Park
My wife and I were camping at Great Basin National Park. About 2100 we were star gazing with my binoculars. The conditions were perfect, no moon and very dark cloudless skies. The Milky Way was overhead and very bright and distint. My wife put down the binoculars and and was pointing out an airplane in the distance. I looked up..so we were both now looking in the same part of the sky and at that instant an object flew by about 1000'(?) overhead from north to south. It was traveling very fast and was completely silent. The object was very dark, the only reason you could see it was that it blocked the stars as it went. the size was hard to judge. There were no lights on it but there was a faint glint like star light reflecting off of metal. It was gone in just a few seconds. We talked about it and we both described the same object. I camp alot and enjoy star gazing. I am very familiar with meteors, Iridium flares, sattelites and normal atmospheric phenomena. I have seen other things in the past but was always able to explain then away ( I thought ). This is one I can't explain.
