2003-04-24 - Cancun (Mexico) - Fireball

Red fireball moving across the night sky in Cancun, Mexico

Me and my friend were sitting outside of our hotel room on the porch talking. We looked to the sky to look at the stars, when we saw this red object moving across the sky from west to east. We immediately looked at each other and said "what the hell was that?!?" Momentarily, we came to the conclusion that it must have been a shooting star, because there was no other explination. Before we could say anything else, the object made a 170 degree turn back towards the west. We were freaking out at this point thinking what the hell... and it disappeared. Two seconds later we looked up again, and there was a huge bright white light with a haze around it in front of us. I ran back into the hotel room cause i didn't know what to do. Definately was the most unexplainable sight i've ever seen in my entire life.
