on 05/08/2001 at approx 1am i was walking home from a friends place. as i was walking home i was on cromie st when i noticed a light entering the town. nothing was unusual as i thought it was a vehicle entering the town, then the light which was white at the time started to travel down the wrong side of the road. to my memory i had only witnessed this once before in my life livivng there. i became transfixed on the light from that point and continued to watch the light travel slowly towards me. i noticed that there was no sound and the light was slowly changing from a white light to an orange glow. like a deer stuck in the headlights of an oncoming car i was transfixed on this object as it travelled towards me. i felt no impending danger so i stood on the road as the light approached. as the object approached closer to me i then became slightly exited and a bit confused about what i was seeing. i stayed on the road as this object moved even closer. i noticed! that the object was a sphere and about 5 to 6 feet off the road and was still making no sound. an orange light was somehow glowing around the sphere.the spere was a perfectly polished steel and was round with no visible joins.i was starting to get a bit worried but still felt no urge to run. it was not until the object was at arms length from me that was when i raised my arms upwards towards the object as i feared i was about to be hit by it. at that moment the sphere lifted up above my head and moved fast over it and headed towards the centre of the street. when it had cleared me and moved another 20 metres away it suddenly vanished. i have only a few friends and family that know of this. sorry this report is so old but i really did not know who i could explain this event to. i still don't know what it was or where it came from.
