This is in response to the orange lights seen west of Austin.... This is exactly where Fort Hood is located. The largest ARMY base in the free world does " field " exercises and they send up tons of flares . Trust me I believe in ufo's etc... but, I am from Fort Hood and am well to aware of what you described seeing :-)
